Find an Urban Oasis at New York City Public Parks

You may think that NYC is a concrete jungle, but, in fact, the city boasts lush green spaces, outdoor recreation, and gardens all throughout the five boroughs. Check out the New York City public parks for yourself and discover beautiful pockets of nature in the city that never sleeps.

 Exceptional NYC Public Parks

Flushing Meadows Corona Park

Queens’ largest park has a long list of great features, including a zoo, a baseball stadium, an art museum, playing fields and courts for everything from soccer to cricket, playgrounds, and a grand promenade. You can also take a bike on one of the paved paths, hit up a Wi-Fi hot spot, or go swimming in one of the indoor pools.

Central Park

NYC’s most famous park is also the most popular one in America. This iconic landmark has everything – beautiful grounds, fountains, bridges, and gardens, not to mention areas for boating, skating, biking, and more. Rent a paddle boat for a different view of Manhattan’s green oasis, or take a gander at the Central Park Wildlife Center and Tisch Children’s Zoo.

Prospect Park

If you like trees and their many furry and winged denizens, head to Prospect Park. This Brooklyn mainstay has some of the last swaths of forest indigenous to the area, along with an Audubon Center. Meanwhile, nostalgia-lovers will gravitate to the park’s carousel and band shell.

New York parks don’t stop there. If you’re searching for a bit of untouched nature, Inwood Hill Park has a vast expanse of undeveloped land with hilly woodland. The Bronx also has Pelham Bay Park, which is three times larger than Central Park and includes a museum and golf course.

If you’ll be traveling to the area and visiting NYC public parks, book your stay with us at Courtyard LaGuardia Airport Hotel.

The price is $55 for adults and $15 for children.

Other springtime events in NYC include the Macy’s Flower Show and Pysanky Ukrainian Easter Egg Decoration Workshop. Both events are family-friendly, visually appealing, and interactive.
