It’s a beloved holiday tradition not only in NYC, but also across the country. The Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting is a grand event with musical performances, surprises, and, of course, lights.
This November 29, 2017 (Wednesday), the world famous tree will get lit up for the 2017 holiday season in spectacular fashion. It will remain lit until January 7, 2018, providing a beacon of cheer throughout the season.
Plenty of music’s biggest stars are scheduled to perform for this year's tree lighting. See Gwen Stefani, Pentatonix, Jennifer Nettles, Brett Eldridge, Leslie Odom, Jr., and more at the event. There will also be show stopping performances by the world famous Radio City Music Hall Rockettes. Today show anchors Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Hoda Kotb, and Savannah Guthrie will host the event.
Attending the tree lighting is free. Viewing spots are open on a first-come, first-served basis. This includes between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenues, and between West 48th and 51st Streets. Can’t watch in-person? The whole spectacular event will be broadcasted live on NBC-TV.
After the tree is lit, you can visit daily between 5:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. at Rockefeller Plaza.
